Leesa DeMartyn is a proud East Pennsboro alumni, lifelong EP resident, and 1st grade teacher. She has been teaching for 20 years at West Creek Hills Elementary School, where she has been dedicated to her students and has served on many committees to support the success of the school district. Outside of the school district, Leesa is an active member at her church and is the co-chair of the parent organization, Friends of Studio ’91.
Twenty years ago, Leesa married her high school sweetheart, Jon DeMartyn, who is also an East Pennsboro alumni. They are happily married and enjoy raising their twins, Katie and Joey, who are sophomores at East Pennsboro High School.
Leesa wanted to participate in Dancing with the Stars to rejuvenate her love for dance and to help assist EP Foundation and its goal to support students.
Leesa has been enjoying watching her daughter dance since she was just three years old, and is excited for the opportunity to learn from her daughter about performing and the art of dance. It is a great honor for Leesa to have watched Katie progress into the dynamic young lady she has become. Leesa has truly been blessed to have the opportunity to look up to her daughter in this dance experience. Kelley and Maddy Ritter are a treasured part of Leesa and Katie’s life and they are so excited that “all four of us dance gals” get to show that “This is how we do it”…. a performance of friendship and support of this great school district and the finest school of dance, Studio ’91!
Kelley Ritter is a special education teacher at West Creek Hills Elementary. She is starting her 9th year teaching in the East Pennsboro Area School District, but has been teaching for 27 years including time in the Dover Area School District and with Lincoln Intermediate Unit 12. Kelley is married to Mike and together they have two amazing daughters. Paige, an East Pennsboro 2017 graduate, is in her freshman year at Virginia Tech. Madison is a senior at East Penn High School.
Kelley wanted to participate in Dancing with the Stars to help support the education foundation. Being a teacher in the district, she knows the importance of the foundation’s work in supporting the teachers in new and ongoing initiatives that make instruction and education better.
Kelley is so excited to be participating in Dancing with the Stars with her daughter, Madison. She knows Madison is a great dancer and teacher. Kelley is looking forward to being the “student” for a change.
Katie DeMartyn has been dancing at Studio ’91 for 13 years and is honored to be a part of Dancing with the Stars for the first time as a student professional. As well as taking her own classes in various dance styles, Katie has been a Student Aid at the studio for 7 years. Through the leadership of Miss Janice, Katie enjoys learning the skills and dance routines of reputable choreographers in events such as ADSI, Fall Frolic, Capitol Kickline and various master classes.
Katie is a sophomore at East Pennsboro High School, where she is on the East Pennsboro Mini-Thon entertainment committee. Outside her school, she is an active participant in her church youth group.
Katie is thrilled to participate in Dancing with the Stars as a co-choreographer with her friend, Madison Ritter, as well as raising money for their school district. She looks forward to a very memorable and humorous experience in teaching her mom and Mrs. Ritter how to express themselves through dance.
